I think right now I'm more concerned about getting Olipro on there. I don't want to even go near updating the ROM until I have that, so I won't risk bricking my phone. I'm currently on the default Cingular rom that came with my phone, so I'm assuming I'll definitely want Olipro on there. If that's wrong, I'm all ears

I don't have access to any windows computers. The mac I'm on is a good 4 or 5 years old so I can't run Boot Camp or Parallels on it. The only thing I can do is either run it through Missing Sync (which so far doesn't know what to do w/ an exe file other than move it to the phone) or mount the phone and move/replace files through apple's Finder.

I opened up the exe with a program called "File Juicer" which just tells me what's inside of the exe, giving me a file called "RUUWrapper[6493]-1.dll"

Is there anything I can do with just that file? Can I move/replace it somewhere on the phone without needing to go through the windows based install process? I'm pretty much at a standstill until I can get this figured out.

I would advise anyone to use Olipro to be honest, it is good insurance against bricking. The RUU wrapper file you see is part of the desktop application needed to install Olipro it will not work on your device anymore than the signed NBH file that is also present.

Have you tried double clicking the RUU Wrapper when your device is connected to your Mac

There is another method that uses your storage card but I do not think this will work in this case, as you have to transfer an unsigned nb file that has its name changed and composed from Olipro, and I have not heard of it being done with Olipro so it would be a first! You would also have to do the same with the rom to flash it across but the problem would be it would be very involved as the rom would have to be broken up into nb files and there would be quite a few.

I think you need to find yourself a Windows based PC, or Put XP on a partiton on your Mac!

ahhhh see? mac's really are not that great they are basically PC's for people who don't know how to use a real PC haha....(steve jobs might kill me for this)

don't let anyone tell you that Macintosh (oops sorry Apple to you stock holders) is better then Microsoft because it really is not....

the only OS that has any sort of advantage on Windows is Linux because it is free and very interesting and once if ever you get the hang of it you already know more about computers then the average person....

If interested google Sabayon linux and download it (its a LIVE CD so no installation required) and see how much better it is then windows, but dont make it your default OS unless you master it because it is a lot more involved then windows)
