Re: Black ROM replacement...
Getting slow in my older years but, like Deb, had kinda been expecting this question to arise.
Personally I'm sticking to Black X Beta 2. In simple terms its got what I need.
While I have not loaded the newer roms I have followed the threads with interest. Going by what I have read they all seem to be a bit buggy or at least with issues we simply did not have with JJ's roms.
Schaps roms seem ok and quite popular but geez they are PURPLE!!! Do I look like a Prince fan

Re: Black ROM replacement...
Just a quick question:
when you change your ROM daily or weekly, how do you bring back all your setting and personal installed apps?
When moving from Black X RC to Schap's 4.01, it took me quite a day to get all my settings and look for the latest versions of the apps...

Yeah I know but there are some bugs still in it apparantly. That is why I am still on 4.01 and awaiting 4.21 which should have the bugs fixed.

It's fine to ask. Tell us what you want from the ROM, and it will make it easier for people to give you suggestions.

I have the same problem. I don't update my ROM at al often. Only twice so far with the MiniS and that is two years old in a week or so. I just find it takes several hours to get all my apps on and registered and then several days tweaking everything to get it back how I like it.
I had to peform a hard reset over a month ago. Last night I discovered two apps that I hadn't yet got around to registering!

Re: Black ROM replacement...
I am using an older version of Pandora - based on a 3.57 Rom (Black Satin equivalent).
I build my settings into the packages, so once flashed I have a couple of cabs to install, my exchange account to enter and sync with, and my favourite contacts to add to HTC Home and I am done. The longest time is spent waiting for the couple of necessary resets during customization etc.
(Once the phone is flashed I reckon 10 - 15 mins before I am back where I was, an that includes waiting for the OTA sync.
I did try Schaps etc, but i still find my ROM to run more smoothly and quickly - I really do respect the 3.57 bases. Could be just me tho.
I add new packages so I am running the newer x button etc for example, cooked in.
I find that Pandora makes it easy to tweak the ROMS without a full dump and recook.

It's a bit dangerous building your exchange settings into your ROM mate. What if you lose your device?

Aah but I don't.
"so once flashed I have a couple of cabs to install, my exchange account to enter and sync with,"
After flashing the ROM, I have to install the certificate and manually enter my exchange details, and then wait for it to sync.
Guess I just didn't make myself clear - its been a long week already and there is still a way to go!
