Unhappy keyboard problems

Hi, new to this, so I will try to be precise. I have a Vodafone v1605, and have been so very pleased with it. It has recently developed a fault. When I turn the phone on, sometimes I get coloured lines across the screen. if I slide the keyboard out, the lines change to landscape, but very rarely can I see the screen. If I press down on the phone, all is clear. I have searched to see id anyone else has experienced this problem, with no luck. Can anyone throw light on this fault. It is a intermitent fault.
I would be so grateful for help
Sally

Hi Sally, welcome to 4WM!

Unfortunately your issue is almost certainly a hardware fault and will probably become more of an issue as time goes on. How long have you had the device for? A warranty repair is likely to be the best solution.

Re: keyboard problems

What you can also try is the following.
In the back of the screen there are some small philips screws. You could try to tighten them. This has helped some Hermes users.
If this does not work then it most certainly is a hardware fault.

Re: keyboard problems

Can you get at all the screws without damaging the warranty stickers?

Re: keyboard problems

The ones you have to tight are the two right next to the sliding mechanism when you slide out the screen. So no probs with warranty.
The ones you refer to are behind the batterycover. There is no need to tighten those.
Others have confirmed this on XDS-Developers.

Re: keyboard problems

Cool. Might be worth a go then. You'd want to be very careful not to strip the heads though.

Re: keyboard problems

Yes be really carefull because they are really tiny. The best is to use clockmakers tools. If you have these at hand.
