Orange Internet or Orange WAP...help?
Hi folks - can anyone explain the main difference between the Orange "internet" and "WAP" connection in the UK? Since I've switched from the original Orange ROM to Black Satin on my M3100 I've lost some of the settings. I've installed the Orange_UK CAB file from rabdo, but its either one or the other, and now I'm confused!
I want access to the "real" internet, but then there are quite a few useful WAP sites I use regularly (egTfL, NRES etc), and despite what a lot of people say, I do quite like the Orangeworld portal which I think is WAP only.
Finally, is there a tariff issue between WAP and internet data usage, ort is it all just Mb at the end of the day?
Thanks for your help!

Re: Orange Internet or Orange WAP...help?
As far as I know, Orange don't distinguish between WAP and Internet when it comes to charging, nor in content availability.
I use the orangeinternet APN (as configured by the Rabdo file) and have no problems with any site. Also, the Rabdo file should put OrangeWorld into your Favourites, and make the necessary ROM changes to allow you to see the 'enhanced' Orangeworld content.
If teh Favourite isn't configured, then just enter the url as http://wap.orange.co.uk and it will connect, as long as you are using Orange GPRS.

Re: Orange Internet or Orange WAP...help?
Cheers for your help. I'll re-load the CAB file to get those settings back.

Re: Orange Internet or Orange WAP...help?
i pay £5 a week for unlimited access on orange internet PAYG, as for the difference between orange wap and orange internet, using the orangeinternet access point restricts what sites you can visit untill you prove that you are over eighteen. If you use the orangewap access point then none of those restrictions are in place, well that is what i have found anyway.
Before people say £5 a week is expensive , all i use is the internet on the phone, i dont use it for calls, i have an O2 xda trion i use for calls but o2 offer really crap internet coverage and 200mb a month limit for £7.50 so i would rather pay the extra with orange and have the unlimited internet, downloads included.

Re: Orange Internet or Orange WAP...help?
Three do a 2Gb per month deal for £5, I've been using one of their SIMs in my HTC Advantage for a while now... Works a treat.
