Best PPC GPRS Data counter App.

I am hoping someone on here may have used or still do use a program that keeps you informed on the GPRS data usage in kb or mb or both on your phone data plan. Hopefully there is a good free one around that will work, or someone knows which one might be the BEST to have.

I have a limited Data account, and NO way of knowing how much I have used either. Even my provider can't (or won't) tell me how much I have used till they dole out the bill

I am going on a couple week trip and will need to rely this very much to not go over my data usage.

Any sujestions, links, or cabs would be GREATLY appreciated!

This thread may also serve to help update everyone else on the latest & greatest out there for everybody as well

! So list away what you use and works good for you. Hopefully everyone can benifit.

I still use Spb GPRS monitor to this day. It's not free but it works well for me... It can generate reports in date ranges and you can setup custom tariffs to allow the program to calculate cost as well.

Even though I'm on an "unlimited" (3 GB) data allowance, I still use Spb GPRS Monitor.

There's also this one: Efficasoft - Smartphone GPRS Traffic Monitor for Pocket PC - A GPRS measurement utility for your Windows Mobile Pocket PC
It isn't free either, unfortunately.

I haven't found anything on PocketPCFreeware, but on FreewarePPC.com I've found this:
FreewarePPC.com - Freeware Pocket PC / Freeware Windows Mobile: PPC_InterfaceMonitor v0.145
I don't know if this can also keep track of GPRS usage for a specific period of time but it might be worth checking out. According to the description, I believe that it might be useful for you.

Note: I haven't tried any of these programs myself.

Spb GPRS Monitor provides everything and more that you need to fully monitor and control usage. Buy yourself a Touch Cruise and it's free !!!!

In addition to what fowljr said it also can provide a visual display in chart format for monthly, daily and hourly usage.

A great bit of software.

Does spb monitor come with a trial? (most spb stuff does)

Might be worth trialing it whilst you are away Gem.

!! And the other one sucks in comparision for funtionality hands down. I think this one for free might be a WINNER! I am going to give it a try!

I have it as i got it free many moons ago. I don't use it though i'm afraid as my data plan pretty much allows me to do what i want, within reason of course.

Hm the Efficasoft site says near the bottom that the software can be purchased so I don't think it's free... But I'd be happy if someone would tell me otherwise!

Just a note ... Spb GPRS Monitor DOES NOT allow you to dial VPN connection while installed. The device hangs and it need to be rebooted. After reboot while hanged by GPRS Monitor it looses almost all passwords and settings kept in the registry including email accounts configuration.

I reported this case several months ago, but still no resolution from Spb.
