Re: Problems installing HardSPL

There you go job done!

Now to save possible problems with Radio version upgrading now flash Hard SPL v7 to your device, again exactly as you did with v9. Then let me know the bootloader version.

Re: Problems installing HardSPL

The exact same thing happened when i tried to load v7. It brought me to the Des SoftSPL bootloader and stopped in its tracks returning the 260 update error on my pc, (The update utility cannot connect to your PDA phone. Please check that your USB cradle/cable is connected properly between the PC and your PDA Phone.). Also the screen below showed my current rom as being 1.34.631.14 instead of Hard-SPL-2.xx.

Does this mean that the Hard-SPL-V9 didnt install?

Re: Problems installing HardSPL

Check the bootloader again, if it reads spl-2.60.olipro no it hasn't. I would rather you have v7 on there though!

Have a look at this post here run it on your Hermes and then try Hard SPL v7. Follow the instructions exactly though, I am off to bed, let me know how it goes.

Re: Problems installing HardSPL

OMFG IT WORKED! I have tried to run that SSPL-HERM.exe from my phones memory SO MANY TIMES and it would just sit at the bootloader screen and do NOTHING. as soon as the bootloader screen loaded a firmware updater popped up and i flashed it successfully. i am assuming this means i have HardSPL and am ready to start using custom roms! ty boz u are a lifesaver!

Re: Problems installing HardSPL

Does the bootloader screen now have Olipro 2.10 showing? If so yes you might be able to flash a ROM!

Re: Problems installing HardSPL

I am also stuck in the error 260 loop. When I go manually to bootloader, my TyTN tells me the following: HERM200 IPL-1.01 HERM200 SPL-1.40.Olipro. I assume I have an older version of HardSPL installed (bought the phone 2nd hand). Three questions here: 1. is it save to flash a new ROM (currently Red Mist), 2. is it safe to try HardSPL V9 and 3. if not, what could one try? (Sorry if this is in the wrong palce, I am a total noob re: smartphones)

Re: Problems installing HardSPL

Hi Chris and welcome to 4WM

I would install Hard SPL v9 before going any further it will be safe, if it doesn't take try flashing in bootloader mode, as explained in a previous post. Once you have HSPL 2.10 showing on the Hermes bootloader screen you can then flash any ROM.

Re: Problems installing HardSPL

Boz,

Thanks for the help. I ran the V9 update and when I go manually into the bootloader it shows HERM200 IPL-1.01 and HERM200 SPL-2.60.Olipro. I take it that things are as they should be and I now can flash a new ROM?
