ATT: Developers - Porting TOUCHFLO from ELF to HERMES
Hey All,
As you are aware, Black Shadow is somewhat a hybrid OEM of ELF and HERMES for the HERMES.
We have the other applications that work with BIOTOUCH. These apps are quickdial, mediahubmini, aplauncher. BIOTOUCH is the touchflo 3D ui.
What we found is that TOUCH.dll is vasty different (hence file size and associated reg entries in the ELF) to support the new touch screen in the ELF. There is some pressure settings in there also.
Now, since dissasembling etc is not my forte, lets unite and see if we can port/emulate or whatever the touch.dll to get BIOTOUCH working.
the Touch.dll MODULE from the ELF is attached to get the ball rolling.
Applications specific to biotouch are below as ROM cooking files and as a CAB installer.
The OEMDrivers from the ELF are also available for download. Maybe there is smoething more than just the touch.dll that differs.
1. ELF OEMDrivers
2. ELF EXTROM NB + Unknown NB

1. Biotouch COOKING FILES
2. CAB VERSION
Code:
i installed the cab i put together
i can then load each of the 3 applications that are in the startmenu but cannot close them. i can reload them by clicking the shortcuts again
launching biotouch.exe makes i beleive the last used application from above appear somewhat ie, u can see the application in the background as it only replaces the top bar.....
Launching Biotouch.exe -s launches one of the associated apps with a 3d animation

Touch Flo ALPHA - HUGE CREDIT TO BEPE
Code:
Here is an alpha version of the Touch Flow interface found in the HTC Touch (aka ELF).
Bepe and I have made the biotouch interface work on the hermes by assigning a HW button to a specifically made executable that I have made that calls another specifically made executable that Bepe made. THese two executables allow the biotouch to run without using the touchscreen as it does in the HTC Elf.
TO initiate the touch flo, just execute the "Touch Flo" app that will appear in your Programs once you have installed and done a SR.
It is best to assign a Hardware Button to "Touch Flo" as each time you press it, the cube rotates and shows the next bio applicaiton interface.
It may/may not work due to the "i have no idea why" syndrome I am facing. I will speak to Bepe sometime in the next couple days.
If it doesnt work --> terminate the biotouch.exe process using for eg dotfreds tman, then try again by first loading biotouch.exe from WINDOWS then launching TouchFlo
>>> VIDEO UPDATE OF IT WORKING (sometimes) <<<
I have a channel on irc.freenode.net #wmblack_4wm
we can discuss there in realtime if need be...

Re: ATT: Developers - Porting TOUCH.dll from ELF to HERMES
This are the extracted apps.
all (exept of HTCHome) are controled by the touch driver
HowTo run one of the apps:
install the related files and reg
there are some .provxml files, you need to install them too
change the .ink file to the app to "-s"
Code:
25#"\Windows\APLauncher.exe" -s
this should show the app ones, after using it you have to kill the task using a taskmanage to use it again
this is HTCHome and APLauncher
HTCHome and APLauncher

Re: ATT: Developers - Porting TOUCH.dll from ELF to HERMES
welcome bepe, nice to chat to you here as well as MSN.
umm,,,, in your post there is nothing attached.
Did you make any further changes to those packages or do you want me to upload them?
EDIT: First post updating with a download link to the biotouch and associated apps.

I would like to help too. I'll keep an eye on both threads. I think we need order though, it would be nice if the information was structured. The wizard attempt (xda) where you posted is starting to get a bit cluttered which is a bit discouraging.

would you propose a structure and I will moderate it, delete non productive posts etc?
there are two parts to this, one is the apps, and the other is the driver, and both are tightly integrated.

I dont really have a preference as to how we structure this project. Listing and updating what works and what doesnt might be productive, but as i say id rather not dictate how this project functions. I'd be happy for you to simply weed out the posts that dont belong.
I better go post on xda so it doesnt look like im playing favourites.

Re: ATT: Developers - Porting TOUCH.dll from ELF to HERMES
we are missing something....
i think there is another application that call's the appropriate 'touch' application as they accept switches for silent mode etc... jasjamming have you missed another application in the touch ROM??
