Vodafone V1615 4-6&8gb SD Memory & charging

Hi all,
There appears to be a lot of different information on different review sites for this excellent phone/pda.

The question is though when using vodafone business email what is the maximum card you can use in the phone without it crashing - vodafone only recommend 4gb - some sites say 6 and others say 8gb

Also does anyone know where i can get a audio/charging so that it will play the SAT NAV instructions through my car stereo. Preferably this lead will also connect into a charging cradle otherwise the phone will have to sit on the dashboard,

Thanks to all in advance

Re: Vodafone V1615 4-6&8gb SD Memory & charging

Hi La Passione and welcome to 4WM

Regarding the card issues, I am not sure Vodafone are right on this because the 4, 6, and 8gb Sandisk SDHC cards all have the same read and write speeds so they should all work without problems.

If you car stereo has a suitable socket there should be leads available to do this, try Expansys they might have them, or you could change the car stereo to a bluetooth unit and do it that way.

Thanks Boz regarding the card issue - knowing my luck i'll get a 6 or 8gb card and it will render the vodafone part useless !!

Regarding the usb phone/charging lead - i don't want to go down the path of changing the headunit as well -what about an additional bluetooth speaker for the voice on the satnav?

Great forum by the way - ive recommended it to others already

I too can confirm that the 6GB cards work in the v1615.

Re: Vodafone V1615 4-6&8gb SD Memory & charging

I could be mistaken (won't be the first time and probably not the last), but manufacturer's usually only certify things that are available at the time of production... This would be the primary reason why they may say that it isn't recommended or doesn't work... Until Vodaphone goes back and actually tries it themselves, they won't certify it... but others, as usual, have gone ahead and plunged into the unknown and tried it out and say that it works... So, go for it with our blessings and if you need assistance, someone will only be to happy to errrrr... assist... yeah, that's the right word...

Re: Vodafone V1615 4-6&8gb SD Memory & charging

Hi

I've been using a V1615 since the day they were released with a 6GB SAN disk and as the others have said, I've had no issues. I'm running with 3.5GB of Mem-Map OS maps as well

Paul.
