I deleted the partnership, but I can't set up a new one since WMDC doesn't recognize my HTC. I'm still working on the Xp option.

Now my MDA III syncs fine except for one nagging problem the MDA gets anything entered over written because ti says there is a change in the Exchange settings which requires the exchange server to overwrite everything on the MDA. I am almost afraid to break and re try syncing because it is sort of working now. I also sync my exchange calendar with google calendar using syncit.

No I haven't yet. SP1 for Vista 64 isn't offered yet in my region. As for other sync options, I'm not there yet, but might try soon.

Did you try moving your Outlook to use Unicode PST files? It solves a lot of issues with large mailboxes.

I like to get a little bit deeper into this Outlook large mailbox issue. Is it a problem of a lot of folders in Personal Folders in Outlook, or a lot of emails in one or more Personal Folders?

It's the large size of individual PSTs that cause the issue. The Unicode format helps to alleviate this.

Re: htc kaiser tytn Iis not recognized by active sync

Well, I got along with syncing in my XP partition well and left Vista 64 alone for a while.
I have Mobile device center 6.1 installed on Vista, and ActiveSync 4.5 on XP SP3 (another box) and SP2.(a different partiton on the Vista box) On the Kaiser there's Windows Mobile Pro6 5.2.1620 build 18125.0.4.2.

But since XP SP3: no sync anymore. And it gets weirder. I have another XP partition and installed Activesync there too. No go either!!!
So capping all my efforts:

1. In Vista 64
  • Vista recognizes and installs the HTC USB Sync driver but WDMC does not recognize the device
2. In XP
  • XP recognizes the device but active sync does not.
3. On the Kiaser
  • Toggling between advanced features in USB helped XP and Vista recognizing the device but not AS nor WDMC
  • There used to be a little usb connection icon top left when i connect, but it's not there anymore when I attach the usb cable, I did a soft reset and changed usb cables and ports. Never used a hub for this connection
4. In general
  • Went through all MS recommendations regarding firewalls and stuff. Still no go. And large files in Outlook are no issue in the Xp partition and the other XP box because there no large files there.
So I'm rather desperate, because i can't sync now at all.
Any advice?
Any other, commercial programs to sync with the Kaiser?

I don't dare to do a hard reset, because I will loose all data on the Kaiser without being sure to recover it with a sync or backup.

Re: htc kaiser tytn Iis not recognized by active sync

First thing is to get the device backed up!

Spb backup can be used for a couple of backups before you need to register. This will at least give you a fall back position before you try anything...

My frustrations seem to be if the device is setup to sync with an Exchange Server then WMDC just refuses to work with it. If I delete the Exchange Server sync details on the device then it goes back to recognising and syncing. this isn't part of your experience is it?

Well, i installed SPB backup, but, like WMDC, it doesn't see the device. Although it's there and Vista recognizes it, so WTF is going on????
BTW I don't use an exchange server. It's directly syncing with Outlook 2007.(if it works, that is)
