Re: htc kaiser tytn Iis not recognized by active sync
download Spb Backup CAB file.
Either download it to your PC and use a memory card reader to copy it to the card, or download it by going to the link below on your phone:
License Agreement - Pocket PC Products - Spb Software House
Then to install Spb Backup to your phone, use File Explorer to find the CAB file and run it.
Then run Spb Backup.
Let us know how you get on.

Re: htc kaiser tytn Iis not recognized by active sync
Ok, I id a backup, hard reset and then WMDC worked again. Great!
What I wonder is, should i do a clean install of everything or take the backup I made.
This, since i plan to do a Rom upgrade from 6.0 to 6.1. But since vodafone hasn't got this i have downloaded an (offical) dutch one, only have to check the radio file, not to get into trouble.
Any thoughts on this?

you may want to consider bent pins on the USB connector of the device: Activesync issue ? - xda-developers

Re: htc kaiser tytn Iis not recognized by active sync
I just had this same problem...Turned out that it was a bent pin in the USB port on the phone...You know, I've used hundreds of USB devices with this very same port and have *NEVER* had a pin bend on the port...and I've been none-to-gentle neither! I have never had a usb port do this to me, never! Anyway, I took a staple, bent the tip into a little hook. found the bent pin (with a 10x magnifier), hooked the pin with the staple and pulled it back out. I then seated it into the plastic recess and now the phone syncs...sheesh, what a pain!
