Charging problems

Sorry to trouble you guys again , but need some advice from the experts.

i have this tytnII and and it is not charging on a generic spare ac adapter after an overnite charge in the morning i unplugged the usb adapter and the battery icon still is the same as what was left before charging .the yello light comes on when connected to the charger.

It is charging from the USB connecton from my pc when i tested this out, but wouldn't charge on the spare usb charger .

the usb charger specs as follows : Model TC98A
input =100 -240 v /200 ma
output =4.5-9.5 max,800 ma

Can anybody give me some pointers on this .i left the original usb ac adapter at home and now am travelling and find it a problem to plainly charge using the ac adapter.

thanks in advance guys and am sure you experts can analyze this problem.

thanks

Re: Charging problems

Your device does charge from some sources, so the device is probably OK.
You say the device charges at home, and from your pc. Were either of these using the same cable as you are using with the spare charger? If so, then the cable is OK as well. If not, then you need to try your good cable with the spare charger.
When you get home again set things up to try charging with the AC charger that works, and check that it still charges your device. Then change only the charger for the spare - keep cables and wall sockets and everything else the same. If that doesn't work, then the spare charger is faulty.

By the way, I changed your post title. It's best to put something specific about your subject; people will skip posts that look like simple introductions.

Re: Charging problems

I believe the 800mA from the mains charger is insufficient- 1000mA is required.

A lower rate is OK with USB to USB charging because the circuitry changes to accommodate the different charge type.

I have had the same problem trying to use a Motorola AC to miniUSB charger with my Trinity and Ameo- it just doesn't have sufficient output power, though the voltage is correct.

Re: Charging problems

Yeah it definitely sounds like a case of lower output.

Quick question, when you charge your device, is the screen turned on or off?
