What security measures do you use on my mobile?

I must confess to being lax on security, in that I have so far never locked my kaiser with a password.

Yesterday, I thought I had lost my kaiser and immediately thought how foolish I had been, since anyone picking it up would have immediate access to my email accounts. I was so relieved when I found it.

The reason why i have been so lax is probably pure laziness on my part, i.e. I don't particularly want to have to keep keying a password number in every few minutes. I would be interested to know what other people on here do - i.e. do you password protect your device, or are you just as lazy (as potentially as foolish!) as I am?

Sad to say there is only the SIM lock on mine - but it does never leave my side.

Admittedly lazy and potentially foolish.... Not even the sim lock... I almost sleep with mine... He sleeps on the nightstand on his side so I can see him when I open my eyes... This allows me to see how many new emails I have greeting me, as well as any potentially important text messages I may get from a dying server or failing ups...

Glad that there is someone worse than me, but again mine is on the bedside table as it is my premier alarm program.

Re: What security measures do you use on my mobile?

yeah, I spend so much time resolving other issues that mine have to wait weeks before I can attend to them... I still haven't fixed my NAS issue or my XP box...

I have a great alarm clock, so I rarely use the alarm application... (ooops, correction, I have it set to wake me up on the train, so I don't miss my stop after my daily nap... yes, I am getting old...)

okay, back OT

I've stopped p/w protecting my device. If you lose it how will an honest finder ( !) know who to return it to ?

This program sounds like it may be of help.

Basically if your device goes missing you can set it to hard reset from afar.

There is a link to the devs page in here

I don't use any secuity either and never have, pure laziness for me too, I don't want the hassle of punching in a number each time I use the device!

I'm afraid I am the same, but I do have Pocket Secure loaded and set to run after a soft reset, and the HR 'timeout' to 5 attempts.

Rick- Pocket Secure can be set to show any owner info text so a genuine 'finder' could contact you.
