Re: Tytn II now a paperwieght
Thanks for the recommendation Mailman. I have decided to go with SPS and sent the phone off to them about midday by special delivery. Hopefully it will get there tomorrow, if not Monday. Either way I should have it back on Tuesday. Fingers crossed.

Re: Tytn II now a paperwieght
Update.
SPS recieved the Tytn II Monday, repaired it Monday, shipped it out Monday by Special Delivery.
Royal Mail took 2 days to deliver a guaranteed next day parcel.
So a huge thumbs up for SPS Mobile. I have already recommended them to a Mini S owner with a screen problem.
Huge thumbs down to Royal Mail who will only compensate the sender and not me. And SPS arent interested in claiming as they only get sent postage stamps as compensation. They have however agreed to send me the proof of postage and Im going to take it up with Royal Mail myself. I paid £5.50 P+P (actual postage cost of £5.05 + packaging) for guarenteed next day and didnt get it.

Re: Tytn II now a paperwieght
Good recommendation there, one for the memory bank! You can always rely on the Royal Mail to let you down, how was the cost of the repair was it reasonable?

I paid £60 for an LCD replacement plus the P+P. As I was expecting it to be over £100 I consider it to be very reasonable.

Re: Tytn II now a paperwieght
That's fantastic. I was thinking around £130-£150 for these fancy new screens!

That is a bargain, can't be much profit in that. I bet you are well chuffed.

Re: Tytn II now a paperwieght
Im certainly am. After so long living with my XDA IIi and then just a month with the Tytn II I felt lost without it while it was away. I borrowed the XDA IIi back from my son so that I had something to at least make and recieve phone calls and it felt so big by comparison.

Re: Tytn II now a paperwieght
You had the IIi for a while didn't you before buying the Kaiser, you were fed up not being able to install the latest software if I remember correctly.

Re: Tytn II now a paperwieght
Thats right.
It was wierd going back to it and doing things the old way again. But now I have mine back and my son has his back. He is using the IIi as an MP3 player and games device. He found out today (much to his dismay) that it also has an alarm to wake him up fro school. He thought it was a smoke alarm or something.
