Re: Can't sync or view/send messages

If tmail won't open via the .exe file, then I'm afraid it looks like hard reset time

This is not a common problem however, so hopefully won't happen again. Maybe its time to try a backup program!

Re: Can't sync or view/send messages

Thanks very much, guys, for taking the trouble to reply. I've now done the dreaded hard reset but it could have been worse, esp if I'd had the phone longer and stored more on it by now, and I was able somehow to get the Windows Mobile Device Centre to recognise the phone again (though not sync successfully) just before I did so I was able to copy some things. Plus I removed the storage card first and it seems to have worked okay.

Everything's slower for some reason but I can access both the copied Outlook messages (though I've made sure there are fewer) and send/receive via my ISP. Hurrah, I just pray it doesn't happen again. Thanks again.

Re: Can't sync or view/send messages

Glad its working again.

Re the slowness- does anything load from the extended ROM that you had previously disabled? Look in My Device/Windows/Startup for anything suspicious! If you're not sure, as here before deleting anything!

Re emails- do you have the settings set to download the whole message, or just 0.5, 5, or 20k +/- attachments? 200+ messages shouldn't be a problem unless you are downloading all of large messages. Maybe constrain to 5k or 20k- you can always click to get the rest of a message if needed.

Re: Can't sync or view/send messages

Neil, very sorry for lack of reply. It wasn't rudeness but illness and I'm only just now human again. The phone has been great whilst I was trapped in bed, working fine; the slowness long ago stopped being a concern and all was well until I recovered and synced with my PC again, downloading a trial programme from Handango, and once again could not access messaging in any way. I do only allow small text emails to be downloaded so you're right that it's unlikely to be a space issue (and I've tonnes of free space). Had to do a hard reset AGAIN, but it was much worse than before as I had much more on my phone and Sprite backup, which came with my phone, has never worked. Most everything was on my storage card but still for some reason had to be completely reloaded--programmes, ebooks etc. It's driving mad; I only got the phone in May. All was finally back to normal til I stupidly tried to do a quick sync this morning and it wiped all my contacts and calendar and some programmes, and now I keep getting sync errors so can't replace them. I despair, but will start a new thread for that. Thanks for your help.
