Re: Best Battery – V6.1, 3G, HSDPA???
And what about batteries for the HTC TYTN II - what are people using. My phone came with a "Dynapack" li-ion battery. This morning, I unplugged it from the mains at 10:00am (fully charged over night), at 11:00am started GPS Tracker (so GPS turned on all the time, on 3G network), and with no calls or data transfers, at 3:17pm the power gave out.
Is there a better make.type of battery? An extra long life one?

Hi jaffab, it should last much longer than that after a charge, up to a day at least with the apps you are running, the battery is obviously faulty and a replacement is needed is your device still under warranty?
I wouldn't recommmend any after market batteries to be honest, play safe with the original type.

Re: Best Battery – V6.1, 3G, HSDPA???
If the GPS was running all the time, that doesnt sound like a bad battery life. I had a hire car and forgot my car cable and found running tomtom on a 3 hour killed the battery totally.
I have been looking at some of these external battery packs you can get to charge phones and mp3 players etc on the road. Some of the ones with solar built in look handy too.

Re: Best Battery – V6.1, 3G, HSDPA???
SO what about the extra life batteries. The standard battery is quoted as 1350 mAh, yet there are batteries you can buy with the same size upto 1800 mah (40% more life), and if you want to get silly, batteries with 2600 mah (double the life) - but these 2600 monsters have double the size therefore tend to come with new backs for your phone which let the battery jut out as a lump (whilst still being encased).
I also like the idea of the 4 x AA battery phone chargers - although these are another box to carry and another pocket bulge if I am going out 'light'.
All I am looking for at the end of the day is to take my phone out when we go out for the day, and track how far we walk/where we are whilst allowing me to receive calls. If I am out walking for 3 or 4 hours, I would not want the phone to cut out (as it did yesterday).

That looks like a nice bit of kit, may well get one to stick in my work bag!
