Re: Best Battery – V6.1, 3G, HSDPA???
Ooh nice, cant go wrong for a tenner really! Tho i do like the look of the solar ones, asuming the solar part can charge the battery in a reasonable time.

Re: Best Battery – V6.1, 3G, HSDPA???
Couple of quick question for those of you with the maplin battery pack. How many times do you think i could charge the kaiser before it was dead and does it just use that one mini usb connector for power in and out? Oh and can you charge it from the usb port on a pc?

Re: Best Battery – V6.1, 3G, HSDPA???
Mine arrived yesterday so I can answer a couple of those questions. It is rated at 2000mAH, so you should get the best part of two full charges out of the Kaiser. It does just have the one Mini USB port for powering it and for taking the charge out (unless I've missed something) and I am currently charging it from my PC at work, though I suspect it will take a lot longer than if I used the supplied charger.

Re: Best Battery – V6.1, 3G, HSDPA???
Another question on the Maplin power pack (as my big one has been delayed 'whilst they wait the 3 weeks for stock'), i you charge it up, how long does it hold the charge for? If you charge it on a Sunday and dont use it, will it still hold full charge on Friday night?

Re: Best Battery – V6.1, 3G, HSDPA???
The instruction manual (well, I thought I'd give it a go) says that, if not used, it should be re-charged every three months. I doubt that it keeps a full charge over a three month period. Possibly half though.
Lithium Polymer seems quite good at retaining charge. My MiniS still had plenty of charge despite not having been used for nearly five months.
Oh, the manual also says that a full charge with the correct voltage will take about three hours. I'm not sure this applies to charging via USB from a laptop though.

Re: Best Battery – V6.1, 3G, HSDPA???
Well, thats good enough for me. After the farce of trying to get the bigger one (I originally listed), I just popped out to my local Maplins (Tott Court Road, London), and they had them there (£9.99) - so purchased 2.
I will keep keep one in my laptop bag (which is always with me when I am out on business), and keep one on my kitchen 'shelf' for grabbing when I go out for walks and stuff.

I'm thinking of getting a couple more. One for the wife's car and the other for mine. Schedule a reminder to recharge it every three months and it's always there in an emergency - all for a tenner per car.
