Pocket IE can not establish TCP/IP connection.
When I connect my AT&T Tilt (WM6Pro,OS 5.2.1622,Build 18128.0.4.4) to my PC via USB cable, some programs can establish TCP/IP connection, some not. ActiveSync - works ok. Opera browser - works, but Pocket Internet Explorer - does not work.
It says: "The page cannot be displayed because the connection lost".
Even when I try to access a web page located on my PC.
I ran an IP Sniffer while trying to open a web page on my PC, I see connections to TCP ports 5678, 990, 5721, 999, 26675 during ActiveSync dialog.
But no access to port 80 at all!
When I use Opera to access my PC's web page, the sniffer shows access to port 80 as it should be.
Also I tried to use pocket PuTTY terminal emulator program, it also unable to connect to any port on my PC.
My desktop PC runs the SharedAccess service (ICS ?), but the Windows Firewall is turned off.
Please help!

Hi zc2,
You are asking serious networking questions there beyond my knowledge I'm afraid (although I did understand them ).
We have a few IT guys on here they may be able to answer your questions if you can be patient....
We have an Introductions section if you want to pop in and tell us a bit about yourself and any other hobbies/interests.....

If you open Activesync, go File - Connection Settings
There is a drop down box called "This computer is connected to:".
Is this set to internet?

Re: Pocket IE can not establish TCP/IP connection.
hi i also face the same porblem, as i am able to open almost all mobile sites, but mobile.f1-live.com which if i connect WIFI it works fine, but if on GPRS or Edge, it doesnt open, and i cannot live without it. the same also happends with Opera, as this site doesnt open so i guess there is a kind of problem we have in our PC called MTU, but i dont know how to set it.

Re: Pocket IE can not establish TCP/IP connection.
MTU is maximum transmission unit. This will not stop you from connecting to a specific site. Your service provider may do though if they are supplying premium content that covers the same information?
If you go:
Start - settings - connections - connections - advanced - select networks
What settings do you have for both Internet and Private network settings?

Re: Pocket IE can not establish TCP/IP connection.
It does sound like Vodaphone might be blocking the site. As I remember, that site offers live streaming of F1 qualifying and the races. Vodaphone offer some form of subscription TC service including some F1 coverage (they are still principal sponsor of Ferrari aren't they?).
It would make sense that they don't want you using their network to view for free what they would like you to pay for!

Re: Pocket IE can not establish TCP/IP connection.
hi, i am based in Vodafone INDIA. and f1-live doesnt offer live coverage, its a news site and especially the mobile version is just like RSS feed. also the surprise is that the full site [non mobile] does open in the opera brower, and also in IE, so i doubt they are blocking it. also i am in VODAFONE india, where there is nothing like blocking, when i am in UK, i see some sites blocked. but in india, i have never seen that. also if i connect the USB internet sharing on my laptop using same connection, it opens. looks like something strange, and i am sure its a setting or an problem [not device].
the reason is that i just flushed and upgraded my rom to 6.1 yesterday, and it has the same problem which i had before. anyways i will send email to the site f1-live to see if they canfind something. as i see, its not porblem with phone or network.
thanks for you replies.
