Re: Can't open the camera

First, I'd try going to Start/Settings/Buttons to check if the Camera button has been reassigned to Album; if so you may simply be able to change it back to Camera.

The next thing to try would be to see if the actual exe file works, rather than the shortcuts.

Open File Explorer and make sure under 'Menu' that 'Show All Files' is ticked.

Now go to My Device/Windows and look for the 'camera.exe' file (in File Explorer this will just be 'camera' as FE doesn't show file extensions) and tap it, which should launch the Camera application.

Assuming this works, then you would need to tap/hold the 'camera' entry and select 'Copy'; now navigate to Windows/Start Menu/Programs and select Menu/Edit/Paste Shortcut, which will place the 'Shortcut to Camera' entry in Programs. If you wish you can tap/hold this entry and Rename to remove the 'Shortcut to' prefix.

To restore the Camera button to opening the Camera, go Start/Settings/Buttons and make the necessary adjustment to the relevant button

If none of these work, then it probably needs a hard reset, which would lose all your installed data, and return the device to its 'factory' settings.

Re: Can't open the camera

Does the Kaiser have the HTC Camera Album application for viewing photos? If so, you can access the camera through that. I have the camera button re-assigned to an app I use more often so generally launch the camera through the album app.

Hi megajg and welcome

Have you by any chance upgraded your rom at all to a cooked version, because there are known issues with mismatched rom and radios causing these exact symptoms.
