Unboxing the O2 XDA Orbit 2

There is a video of the O2 XDA Orbit 2 unboxing here

Our very own Cyclist takes us through the contents and her initial thoughts on the device.

There are some differences between the HTC Touch Cruise and the O2 XDA Orbit 2.

As always, your comments, thoughts and opinions are always appreciated.

Re: Unboxing the O2 XDA Orbit 2

There isn't one. All that's under my battery is my IMEI, the serial number and part number. I assume that since O2 don't trade in US they haven't submitted it for FCC approval so there is no ID number.

Re: Unboxing the O2 XDA Orbit 2

that's what i suspected...one can typically find such data on the FCC's website. i'm in the US and expecting an Orbit 2 any day now. i prefer the Orbit 2 look vs. the HTC Touch Crusise... O2 look more business like, more refined. of course, this is just my personal opinion. thanks for looking.

No problem - and you broadened my knowledge because I went and found out what an FCC ID is.

Thumbs up Re: Unboxing the O2 XDA Orbit 2

Hey Cyclist, thought you might like to know... a deaf friend of mine who was miffed after his xda orbit broke was guided to your unboxing video by myself and he has decided to get the Orbit 2 !! What swayed him was that it came with a case. Apparently the original xda orbit did not come with a case.

I'm pleased he found the video useful.
When I first saw that case I was not particularly impressed. But over a couple of weeks of use I have grown to like it. Previous manufacturer supplied cases were always a poor compromise between leaving parts of hte device open to use and protecting the device, to say nothing of being made of leather which I won't use (strict vegetarian). The Orbit 2 case is very clearly intended to protect the screen, and has abandoned any possibility of using the device while in the case. So there's no compromise, and what it does, it does well. It isn't bulky and it's made of fabric. So I am using the case, and may well carry on using it even when alternative cases are available for purchase.
