HTC Audio Manager - Sort Order Problems

Now, I know it's been mentioned on here before but I just wanted to check something. The HTC Audio Manager, whilst very good, doesn't play albums in album order, it plays them in alphabetical order. So, unless you ripped your tracks with the track number as part of the file name it can bugger up your music collection.

However, I noticed today that an album (AMy Winehouse - Frank, in case anyone was interested) was in the correct order. This came as a bit of a surprise. Severa hours after dicovering this it occured to me that Frank would be one of the few albums I had in MP3 format.

I only started ripping stuff in MP3 a little while ago. Before that, everything was WMA.

So, I checked another couple of albums ripped since Christmas and, sure enough, they are sorted correctly as well. So, is it only WMA's that don't sort correctly and have I just discovered something everyone else already knew?

Re: HTC Audio Manager - Sort Order Problems

I am the opposite to you and all my music files on my storage card are in mp3 format, I did have a few WMA tracks that were as you say not sorted in order so I did work that out when I used the earlier versions of the Audio Manager, it was obviously made with mp3 files in mind!

Re: HTC Audio Manager - Sort Order Problems

That would answer why my gym music did not play correct. Its about 1hr mix of mp3 & wma. Don't mind random after the first half hour but i run for 30 minutes first and the music HAS to be in the order I want so I renamed it with a track number as the first part.
Will rerip it all as mp3 tonight.

Just for your info
Track 1-6 All stood still - Ultravox (yes same track 6 times) keeps me running.
Track 7 Right here right now - Fatboy Slim - last 3 minutes all out sprint.
Track 8 The Wild, The Beautiful & The Damned - Ultravox
Track 9 Toxic - Armand Van Helden
Track 10 Build it up - Tear it Down - Fat Boy Slim
Track 11 Skull Ring - Iggy Pop
Track 12 LA Women - The Doors - last 5 minutes on the rowing machine.
