To add to my previous posting:
I've tried both, and when I try to go to a website thru' IE, I get the message "Cannot connect with current connection settings". Tapping this button then takes me to the page with "My ISP" "My Work Network" etc.
Please help!

Ahh, you mean the operator settings, have a look at this thread here it gives you all you need to know.
