Re: Piel Frama Cases
I will likely get one of these eventually as they are slim and a good fit, but in terms of quality my PF Orbit 1 case peeled apart in a couple of places. Some of the stitch lines appear to be just surface patterns - its just 2 sides of very thin leather glued together with a plastic reinforcing strip between them.
My post with pics earlier in this thread shows this - look at the left hand side of the screen - the leather next to it has started peeling away.
So very nice leather and nicely cut to fit - but the quality of assembly is not that great in my experience - they may be hand finished (as you would expect) but i think the "Craftsmen" tag is stretching it a bit..

Re: Piel Frama Cases
That's unusual Michael,
As I said, I have five PF cases and although my Tan Orbit 1 case has had the most hammer, none of them are showing any signs of poor workmanship.
The worst I can say is that the Orbit 1 case is ageing and wearing but all stitching and seams etc. are perfect still.
May be you got the Friday afternoon shift making yours!

Re: Piel Frama Cases
Anybody else's Orbit II, look the same as the one they have in their pic..
The hard buttons and the rear speaker, grill?
Is this the German model?

Re: Piel Frama Cases
I only have to PF cases but they are both definitely hand-stitched. I'd be very disappointed if I got one for that price and it was just glued!

Re: Piel Frama Cases
I have to agree with Bassey, I've reviewed several Piel Frama cases and not only has the quality of both craftsmanship and raw materials been excellent, they just don't seem to wear. No glue in any of the one I've used.

It might be a dummy unit - like you see in the shops....
Remember they only need to know the dimensions, shape and where the ports are for cut-outs. I suppose it doesn't need to be a functioning model.

Re: Piel Frama Cases
Good point that Tony. It's a dummy, I'm a dummy....
Not that any of us are obsessive or anything, about these things, of course.

Re: Piel Frama Cases
Hmmm, looking at the piccies and comparing to the Turkish Beyzacase of mine, the PF looks wider, which could be good, as I struggle to get a credit card in the flap pocket. I prefer the antique leather option I have for mine and it is wearing in nicely (it matches my wallet and passport holder I am SAD++).
However, they both have the lip around the screen, which, I have to say, makes poking at the screen edge a mite difficult.
I am now looking for a case which does not have a frame around the edge so I can take advantage of the sleek frameless Orbit 2 screen.
