How to choose contact number to display in Contact

How can I choose which of the multitude of contacts displays on the one shown on the two line of contacts.

When I press the soft key "contacts" I get the contact's name in bold and underneath a number with m ,e,h,w etc after it showing which contact number it is. But how do I change which one is displayed when a contact has a few numbers. Some display the first in the list and some the last, some even display the email when there is a mobile number.

This is my first WM6 after own 3 Palm PDA, where there was a "choose to display" option in Palm desktop.

Is it somewhere in Outlook 2007 or on the Orbit itself.

Hi Jon,

Welcome to 4WinMobile... Which device do you own and since it is your first WM device, I am assuming (might be a bad idea) that you have not flashed any custom roms yet... If the assumption is a valid one, then I believe you can click and hold on the contact and it will present you with the numbers and email address of that contact... From there you can choose the default one that you wish to show...

It has been a long time since I used the standard contact application in WM6 and I am trying to do this from memory... Of course, my memory ain't what it used to be... or is that isn't... ah, who cares in cyberspace... Hope this helps...

Welcome to 4WinMobile!

Open Contacts app
Highlight the contact that you want to change the default number for
Press Left or Right on the directional pad

This should change the default contact number (or email address) for you.

Ahah, yes, I had forgotten about that... Thnxs for the tip...

It's much easier to see in the cooked WM6.1 Touch ROMs I've used
as there are little arrows either side of contacts with multiple contact types.

Thx. Orbit 2 is my device. Pretty cool with google maps. So far impressed with it over the aging Palm OS.
