Where's Active Sync?

Got my Orbit II running but need to be able to sync stuff from my Mac. Have been doing this no problem with the Orbit 1, but just cannot get a connection to the OII. If I try to run Active Sync on the OII I just get a message about installing software on a PC, but right now I have no running Windows PC and just want to sync to the Mac.

Am I right in thinking that in fact Active Sync only gets fully installed in WM6 by installing onto and then connecting to a PC? Or should I be able to sync to the Mac without having to do that first. In which case why won't it sync? Ggrrrrr.

I didn't think AS worked at all on a MAC but that you had to use Apps such as Missing Sync (think that's what it is called) to gain that kind of functionality or do you mean simply getting the device to be seen as a HDD?

Re: Where's Active Sync?

Hi, UKenGB.

Nope, you can sync with AS on PC and, after, sync with MacOS. I do this without problem.

I have to install some apps to my Touch from PC, but I do not want to sync with Outlook. So, on PC, I created a partner ActiveSync <-> device (with no options to syncs), and sync iCal, tasks and contacts on MacOS to device.

But what app do you use to sync with Mac? I am using Missing Sync and SyncMate (freeware). Both compatible with Leopard.

Cheers.
