Gripe: cannot see screen to unlock
Hmmmm - i love my Orbit 2, but 1 big problem for me is that the reflective screen is difficult to read in bright light when the screen is dimmed.
Sooo - when my Orbit is locked and i am in sunshine or a brightly lit area, i cannot easily see the on-screen "unlock" buttons !!
Its not the end of the world, but it is irritating - is there an iphone (sorry for swearing) type "slide to unlock" software available for WM6 ?

Re: Gripe: cannot see screen to unlock
There are a few 'slide to unlock' apps around, but some have caused major device problems.
A commercial program you may want to look into is GoodWin from Vito TEchnology; this has a number of features apart from the unlocker.

Re: Gripe: cannot see screen to unlock
Yes - The one i use is S2U2 (Slide to Unlock), its not a secure lock. However, if I want to stop the buttons being accidently pressed whilst in a pocket/pouch for short term usage such as using it as an mp3 player then this is what I use.
You can read more about it at XDA-DEV as well as find links to the downloads.

Re: Gripe: cannot see screen to unlock
Hi Michael - do you know you can use the hardware softkeys (instead of the screen) to unlock?
Press left soft key then right soft key to unlock device.
Hope this helps.

Re: Gripe: cannot see screen to unlock
ahhh - no hardware keys!
sorry for the confusion.
when you press the left softkey, use the right softkey instead of looking for the small box in middle right of screen.
does this work for you?

No it doesnt - you still have to press the virtual "Unlock" button located centre -right screen.
Thanks for the suggestion tho. The reflective screen isnt really a huge problem, its like many mobile phone screens after all, just irritating to have to shieild the screen in strong lights to be able to see where the unlock button is.

Re: Gripe: cannot see screen to unlock
I saw a reg hack for this somewhere, where you rename one of the folders, but I'm sorry I can't find it at the moment. I tried to do it myself, but S-K Tools doesn't seem to have a facility to rename registry folders. I will keep looking and let you know if I find it.

I'm running the stock O2 Rom and this is how I do it for exactly the same reason. Left Softkey then Right softkey.

This doesn't work for me either. When locked, there is unlock on the left soft key. when I press that, there is nothing on the right soft key, only the thingy in the middle. Even tapping where the right soft key is makes no difference.
