Foibles
When the Orbit 2 starts up, the screen dims just as the 'enter PIN' screen displays so it's a struggle to see what's being entered. Is there any way to prevent this dimming of the screen at the important moment?
When the screen is turned on again after it's turned off either due to timeout or by manually pressing the power button, I always see the Today screen, whatever program I was in when it turned off. This is beginning to irritate. Is it possible to make it always return to the same program that was active at the time the screen turned off, just like the Orbit 1 always did?

Re: Foibles
Sorry, never seen that behaviour before. My device returns to the last program when turned back on and I've never noticed the screen dimming just as the PIN screen arrives.
For the screen dimming problem, what have you got the screen timeout set to?
Go to Start Menu -> Settings -> System -> Backlight -> Battery Power.
I have mine set to 1min and it seems just fine.
As for the Today screen appearing, what software have you got installed that might be doing this? It certainly isn't the default behaviour of WM6.

Re: Foibles
As Bassey said it has to be another application causing the problem, I do not see this behaviour on my Orbit 2.

Re: Foibles
Hi
Same problem here too but thought it was a "feature"!
Only difference from shipped state is HTC home added.

Re: Foibles
Hmmm......I run HTC Home but still do not get that problem, and it is not something I have seen before either on any device. Have you tried soft resetting your device?

Re: Foibles
I do have HTC Home installed too, but from what some of you are saying, it seems this may not be the problem.
Is this behaviour an option somewhere? It could be considered a 'good' thing to always return to Today, but not for everyone so it would make sense for it to be a selectable option.
But where?

Start-Settings-Today-Items Tab
Under the list of items is a check box with a drop down for the Today timeout - which is a poorly worded way of saying when the display reverts to the Today screen. Uncheck the checkbox and your last program should stay displayed. The default settings are checked and 4 hours. No idea if HTC Home will interfere.

Re: Foibles
OK, the screen dimming problem is explained and sorted here:-
Backlight reverting to 10 seconds - xda-developers
So that just leaves the annoying habit of it always waking up in the Today screen.

Doesn't cyclist resolve that in post 8, immeadiately above your last post?
