Get yourself a backup app with scheduling, schedule it to backup at 3am, and hey presto, auto reboot.
Or I believe that there are scripting apps which could do a simple reboot. Combine with password protection and encrypted backups to protect your data.

Tried a soft reboot as well Bruce but same problem, i guess just me and neilm seem to have this problem, might be others but at least yours is working fine.
