Playing Back Audio Files / Call Navigator

Hi

I use a service via a company called - call navigator which stores my voice messages as what I assume is a .wav file.

When I download them using my Orbit 2 - it titles them as NewServlet and won't play them back stating it is an invalid media type - (although they look as though they are valid) - if I copy them over to my desktop they play back fine using Windows Media Player.

Does anyone have any ideas, does it require a plug into play them back - I guess I could pm over one to someone if that would help.

I really do need to get this sorted as I am going away this week.

Many Thanks

DiV

Re: Playing Back Audio Files / Call Navigator

It sounds like the file name extension is fooling the Orbit into thinking the files are java applets.

If you say that can get them onto a desktop pc and them play them back with Windows Media Player, then it sounds like you should view the properties of the file whilst they are open in Windows Media and then convert them to a format suitable for the orbit or check out a suitable player for the orbit.

I'm guessing that its a VOIP message servie, so they certainly wont be uncompressed .WAV files - more likely variable bit-rate .OGG or MP3

There is another option, try TCPMP player v0.81, it can play many audio file types as well as videos as you can see in the screenshots below, find it here
