Re: I've Gone Into Orbit !!!!!!!
Well for fun with GPS, and to earn you and the site a little bit of money, check out this thread (Support us using Navizon). Join in and map Liverpool/the Wirral for us, must be lots of unmapped areas to go at. I'm more than half way to my third reward from just doing my normal stuff around Manchester and a few bike rides out into the countryside at weekends.

Re: I've Gone Into Orbit !!!!!!!
OMG, yes there will have to be an Orbit Anonymous self help group now.
This things worse than having (which I never succumbed to) an addiction to the CrackBerrry.
I've now found myself sneakily searching round for cool little cab files to play with!
Also I'm glad to discover I'm not the only fool who loves playing with the GPS, when on the bus in the morning. I mean, what I don't know where the bus will be turning next already!
As for being at home, able to stream episodes of Dads Army from BBC7, over WiFi, via BT and have it broadcast out of my stereo. Priceless....!
As for actually using it as a phone and making calls on the thing. Like OMG, I didn't know it could do that as well...

Glad you have come out of the closet at last and openly admitting to CAB Addiction.

I tried for many years to get into the whole pda thing - first the old Casio electronic diaries, then Psions, then a Philips Nino (remember them ?) and was always frustrated with them ultimately as they werent really advanced enough to be a proper replacement for a paper pocket diary and a mobile phone.
Then i saw the Orbit 1 and thought "Hmmmm... its a proper PDA with a decent screen ...and a proper phone combined... and GPS, which i have always fancied... and Wi-Fi....and...its nice looking and a managable size.
Went and brought an Orbit 1 and have never, ever looked back - have just upgraded to an Orbit 2 which is even better.
Wirral Bagpuss - you are going to have a lot of fun - especially with the GPS
Regards
Michael
PS - set GPS apps which dont find the internal GPS to "NMEA" "COM 4" and "4800"

Re: I've Gone Into Orbit !!!!!!!
I know it's a little late in the day, to become all rational and practical over this new Toy convergent pocket pc mobile communicaitons device and I know this might sound like heresy and Emperors New Clothes speak, but errr what's the point of the weather?
I mean what's the point, not of THE weather, but the weather plug in for the home screen.
Unless you have it on 3g or download it once over Wifi, it's either a) expensive of b) constantly out of date and errrr can't one just look outside anyway?
Should I take cover?

Re: I've Gone Into Orbit !!!!!!!
No need to take cover! Actually I agree- I have a few weather apps, but they never stay long on the device

Re: I've Gone Into Orbit !!!!!!!
I travel around the UK a lot with work and it can be useful for that reason.
Means I can make an educated guess when I'm packing.

Well I do have 3g on a cheap bundle, and I still don't bother with the weather. When I'm out on my bike, I'm out and I'm going to either get wet or not regardless of what some forecast says. I think either you are a weather person and want to know, or not.
Room under that cover for me as well?

Re: I've Gone Into Orbit !!!!!!!
Hahaha!! I have weather application on my orbit. As i have Italian connections (Sciliy actually!) i like to see what the weather is doing there and more often than not i set that to be my main weather channel as it cheers me up to see warm weather there when it is pouring with rain here!! And it can be useful to plan ahead with the UK weather too if you are going on a business trip and it looks like i will be going on a business trip sometime during April or May connected with work and i hope to be promoting my Orbit then !
