Problems with mic

Hi All,

I recently started having problems with my mic. When i call someone or they call me, i can hear them clearly but the other person cannot hear me at all, unless i really shout or put the mic direct to my mouth, occassionally it is ok but today seems even worse. I am certain it is a hardware problem as i never had this issue before - so will be contacting O2

However has anyone else experienced any problems like this before or heard of any issues with the mic.

Cheers

Re: Problems with mic

Not heard of anything before. As always, it might be worth a hard reset (backup before doing this!) just to make sure no application has effected the operation of the mic. Unlikely though. Hardware fault sounds like the most likely.

Also worth checking a piece of dirt or grit hasn't just worked it's way into the mic hole on the bottom!

Re: Problems with mic

well tried everything no luck i'm afraid. In fact if anything it is now totally dead - just seems to have died itself as working fine the other day. Anyway i called o2 and they going to exchange it tomorrow.

Actually called them from the handset earlier and was talking very loudly so they could just about hear me, wanted them to actually hear the problem i had for themselves

Well hope replacement doesn;t have any issues........

Re: Problems with mic

Hi

I've also run into the same problem. I bought my phone in Dubai back in Dubai. Once home I setup the phone and used it for about three hours off and on until I started experiencing the same problem. First I thought it was poor network coverage but after some experimentation I discovered it was my phone. I've checked the HTC website but they don't have a ready fix; other than, bluetooth patches.

I've registered my phone issues with their online support but I've yet to hear back after three days. I'm still looking for a fix but I'm not hopeful considering you've had the problem since February and there still isn't a fix.

In the event I come across a fix, I'll let you posted.
