Re: Orbit 2 x Bad Luck

I would have thought the problem lies in the fact that the phone is locked to AT&T the original service provider, or did you buy it unlocked?

Re: Orbit 2 x Bad Luck

It's unlocked. The phone works perfectly, wifi, telephone, gps...but not the gprs and 3g, they are not working, and O2 said that as the phone is not from O2 they can't help. Even if the model is almost the same as the O2 XDA Stellar...also made by HTC...

Re: Orbit 2 x Bad Luck

The O2 connection settings are corret, so it maybe that the device simply isn't using them?

Put the device into Flight Mode or turn the phone radio off.

Go to Settings/Connections/Connections and in the top section tap 'Manage Existing Connections'; this takes you to a screen listing your available connections. If there is anything listed apart from O2, tap/hold it and select 'Delete'; Also choose the 'radio button' beside the O2 Connection, rather than 'Auto Pick' to force the device to use that connection.

Now OK back to the home screen and turn the phone radio back on; try an internet connection to see if it works now.

Re: Orbit 2 x Bad Luck

Thanks for the help, but it didn't make any difference. And I don't know which rom this phone is using. Could this be the problem? Where could I find the uk rom to fix it? XDA Stellar one?

Re: Orbit 2 x Bad Luck

You could install the O2 rom but it won't help with the phone settings as they are in the extended rom originally and will have to be put in manually, but it may work that way. You could try a cooked rom instead.

Re: Orbit 2 x Bad Luck

Thanks Boz,

I've just received my new Orbit 2 from O2. It has arrived yesterday. It's a refurbished one, but at least it was a case of a client that used it for about 2 weeks and couldn't get used to it. I know, O2 service is disappointing. If they couldn't fix it they should give me a brand new phone, but this would be if I'd have sent the phone in the first 28 days after purchase. The new phone apparently is working really well. The At&At Tilt I'm selling on ebay. Regards, Daniel.

Re: Orbit 2 x Bad Luck

I think that's disgraceful. I'd have wanted a new device.

Re: Orbit 2 x Bad Luck

Unfortunately that's how O2 works...I'll move to other service provider as soon as my contract finishes. It's not the first time I'm disappointed with its services. Apparently T-mobile provides some interesting calling plans with unlimited data transfer included...
