Red face Copilot and Orbit 2 probs...

Hi all.

Only had the Orbit 2 for a few days, and i am starting to get a few glitches

Let me tell ya my tale of woe...
  1. When i click on the Copilot icon to start the application, it takes about 5 mins, and i get a screen with a progress bar saying "Integrating updates". Sometimes it takes that long it shuts down into standby (which causes more problems due to SPB starting up), and have had it where the thing Crashes, and needs to be rebooted...
  2. If i have any other programme running, it can become unstable, to the point where it does not respond to touch screen ...
  3. This has only occured since i updated it from the Copilot web site (i think).
  4. The update stated that it would delete the old version first before installing the new... I don't think it has. The reason for saying this is that i only have 133mb free of a 1gb card - and the only thing i have put on of any size is a 396mb film..
  5. I was informed that i could use a bluetooth headest with the copilot, but i cannot get this to work - maybe i have been given duff info on this?
I would be chuffed if somebody could let me know where i am going wrong on this please.

Oh i better explain what i have on the phone, for any conflicts..
  • SPB mobile shell
  • Mobipocket
  • Yahoo go
  • TCPMP
  • HTC GPRS monitor
Cheers

Re: Copilot and Orbit 2 probs...

You may have got a faulty update from ALK- there have been reports of failed updates and other odd stuff Do you have the original CD still? It might be worth reintalling the default version to see if it fixes it. CPL7 ought to start up in about 10-15 seconds.

SatNav programs do need a lot of memory- make sure you turn everything else off first, before running CPL.

The Orbit2 definitley supports most mono and stereo BT headsets, so either you have a configuration problem, or possibly you have one of the few unsupported headsets- which are you using?

Re: Copilot and Orbit 2 probs...

Hi NeilM. I am using the Pama JUNO headset. I still have the original disc etc. so will prob look at doing a fresh install. As for programmes running in the background, i think i have only ever had windows explorer running, if i have turned on CP7 from within that.

Thanks
