Touch Cruise Turning Itself Off
Since the weekend my Cruise has been turning itself off completely. It can happen at any time, but always after touching the screen to do something. It has happened on several occasions while trying to enter my password. Once it boots, it might stay on for an hour and then zilch. I've just removed the battery and cleaned the terminals to see if this helps. Anyone else experienced this problem.

Re: Touch Cruise Turning Itself Off
Definitely sounds like a warranty repair to me. Not good at all that.

Re: Touch Cruise Turning Itself Off
Since taking out the battery and cleaning the terminals, it hasn't switched itself off (some 5 hours) so fingers crossed.

Re: Touch Cruise Turning Itself Off
My neighbour has a universal which does that frequently.
I told him to order another battery for it and see what happens (it's not turned up yet).
Cheers for the tip. I'll suggest this to him too.

Re: Touch Cruise Turning Itself Off
Nearly 20 hours later and no problem. Looks like cleaning the contacts/reseating the battery has worked. Phew !!

Re: Touch Cruise Turning Itself Off
Good stuff. I know my wife had an SE K750i that would do a similar thing and, when we opened it up, we noticed some green corrosion on the battery contacts. Of course, that was probably related to her letting our little boy play with it and his tendancy to chew everything he's given

Re: Touch Cruise Turning Itself Off
He has figured out that the Touch Cruise is a touchscreen device. Just random stabbing at the screen with his finger thus far, but several steps ahead of his Nan!
