Re: what to do
I'm still struggling myself Rommel_1230!
As I state all my other devices are fine with Vista and WMDC but my Orbit 2 is fine with all my XP instalations and I am about to try it on one of my other Vista installations.
I will report back if I find anything but I have tried deleting partnerships and WMDC and hard reset of the device and still the same scenario!

Re: what to do
When I have had problems with WMDC I find uninstalling does not fully get rid of all registry entries etc which cause problems with a fresh install, so I use an application called Your Uninstaller and remove WMDC with that as it will fully rid your PC of all remnants.
I then made a fresh install of WMDC I then untick 'Enable advanced network functionality' in settings on my device, connect the device via USB and all was well again.
There is a 21 day trial version of Your Uninstaller so give it a go and see if it works, you can find it here, let us know how you get on.

Yup!
Funny thing is...
After a hard reset I managed to get the thing to sync - ONCE! Then it fails again.
Doesn't matter whether I have advanced networking enabled or not....
Thing is the Orbit 2 is showing as connected but WMDC just doesn't want to know...
Thanks for the tips Boz, I'll uninstall and try again.

Re: what to do
One uninstall-reboot-install cycle later and still WMDC is uninterested!
Might be time to scrub Vista..... again....

Re: what to do
Guys,
See if you can make any sense of this!
When I do a hard reset and set clock, align screen etc I can sync first time - i.e. without SIM and SD card.
If I put both in it won't sync. WMDC tries connecting and fails, device shows as connected.
If I take them both out again, it syncs!
If I put SD card in (no SIM) it fails to sync!
If I put SIM card in (no SD card) it syncs!
So there's some clash with 8GB SDHC card all of a sudden!
I have a couple of lower capacity cards. I'll try them....
This is doing my head in!!!!
Works fine under XP....

Re: what to do
Update!
Defo the 8GB SDHC card. Put a 2GB SD in and all's syncing.
Funny thing is the card is working fine with no errors etc. Can read it fine in P6500 as well as Orbit 2!
I'll try to erase it it and copy everything back on to see if there's a rogue file!

Re: what to do
Now that is strange. I wonder if my problems are linked to the SD card. Although I can sync the S620 over Bluetooth without problems. I'll have to try and sync without the card in on the morrow...
