Re: usb connection problem

Try pulling it off then back again. If that doesnt work maybe the usb may have some problem or your pc wont recognize it. Are you a vista user?

The fact that it is charging ok confirms that the USB port and cable are functional and even if there is no actisync pairing set-up yet, the pc should still see it as an unknown device.

But it isnt, so the pc and mobile device arnt communicating, which suggests a comms / protocol problem.

Really need more details, but as a starting point, check the state of the tick box in Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC > "Enable advanced network functionality"

I know from experience that can scupper the device being recognised - try it both checked and unchecked ( you might need to soft reset the mobile device each time - i cant remember)

Re: usb connection problem

Had the same problem, was nothiong to do with PC, cable or PPC, download drvupdate_x86.exe which is the Windows Mobile Device Center software, install and reboot. Solved my problem after many hours of hair pulling.
