Does this mean you'd like a pink device Jim? Something you're not telling us? One "for the wife"

Me, personally, of course not! But as you say, one for the ladies?

Actually i have to disagree....
Its nice to look at but very slow. The touchflo is a great idea but doesnt quite work. When browsing from one menu option to another you can wait up to 5 seconds for the items to appear. Teh auto rotate screen works when it wants too.

I have found that the gps is off by about 100 yards when using it with google maps. I have installed tom tom and this has very poor perfomance.

The overall speed of the device is very slow and i think its touchflo that is causing the hold up.

I have had almost every PDA T mobile have released and this although looking great just doesnt perform that well. The vario 3 is better by far.

If you really want to be irritated, try running TF3D config and install the black theme. You get rid of the horrible pink and white them but touchflo then runs even slower, and thats with all the tweaks enabled too.

I played with the iphone today and i think it is a job done much better. Its a shame its only on O2 as i think i would have gone for it.

The battery has dropped by half in just a few hours. I used it for 15 mins during lunch which is enough to need charge over night. I had push turned off and was just messing about with the weather and music menu (i wasnt listening to it at the time). The mp3 functions are basic at best.

Before you buy, please give it a go.

I will keep at it and maybe i will find some tweaks to make it run better.

On a plus note, the teeter game is very good.
The web browser is very good. especially the double tap zoom function.
The screen is ultra clear and can be read at even the tiniest font size.

to sum up, a great idea which doesnt quite pay off. If anyone has any ways of speeding it up i would be greatly appreciated (especially if i can keep the black theme too)

Re: T-mobile compact 4 now available

Have you thought about trying any of the cooked ROMs at Xda Developers? Reportedly these offer vast speed increases.

Re: T-mobile compact 4 now available

I've not found any of the problems you're seeing with my Diamond. Maybe the TMobile ROM is poor? My device swaps between Touch tabs like lightning. I get about 24 hours with my battery and that's with BT on all the time too.

Many thanks for your suggestion. I installed the SWIFTBL WWE DIAMOND ROM V5.0 - CE OS 5.2.20273 (BUILD 20273 AKU 1.3.3) rom and this has made a hell of a difference.
I was getting on average about a 2 second delay when using the thumb scroll bar at the bottom. If i select the individual tabs i would get up to 8 seconds delay. now it is instant.

and its the black theme. I also now have 101mb free on internal storage. previous i had around 50mb (which dropped to 25 with the black theme.)

Have yet to test the gps with google maps.

It seems the T-mobile rom is very slow.

If anyone wants the link its here...
[05 AUG RELEASE] SwiftBL WWE Diamond v5.0 Full + Lite ROMs [CE 5.2.20273 AKU 1.3.3] - xda-developers

Many thanks again...
