WM 6.5 Rom on Diamond

Hi,

Currently running Shaks latest rom on my diamond but have keeping an eye out on the 6.5 roms that have been making an appearance in recent months.

Is anyone running a 6.5 rom at the moment, which one is it and does it appear to be relatively stable?

In installed one a few months ago and gave up after a day or so due to the buggy nature of the OS . . .would be good to get some real world experiences of running 6.5.

Cheers

Re: WM 6.5 Rom on Diamond

I have tried a few WM 6.5 ROMs on my Diamond and came to the same conclusion until I found this one, the weather works well and I have had no problems speed and functionality at all, the wallpaper is not standard!

Let us know your thoughts.

Re: WM 6.5 Rom on Diamond

I've been running this one (although version D) for a couple of weeks without any big issues now:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=506533 (same as above )

Take many of the bug reports with a pinch of salt too, and try it for yourself

Definitely not going back to WM6.1 or TF3D anymore, as I'm quite liking the Titanium screen with its weather and fave people mods.

The main bug that used to annoy me was with SMS notifications not sounding until the device was switched on. That can be sorted by choosing a wav instead of an mp3.

Hi hichem,

The FIRST thing you MUST do is install HardSPL from the XDA-Developers site. Without it you could end up with an unusable device!

Once the HardSPL is on the device, connect the Compact IV to the PC using ActiveSync/WMDC and run the installation program and follow the instructions.

You must have a device with at least 50% battery charge before starting....

Hi Boz. How have you been doing?
Just wondering what is the best, just most stable OS for the Diamond that still has the 3g dialer for video calling still in it? It does not look like this one does.?..? Does it...

Need to know something fast, as my wife is about to throw out the HTC and jump to a crackberry! Nooo... Please help
Thanks Boz.

Re: WM 6.5 Rom on Diamond

I spent a week in which I tried 5 different 6.5(.1) ROMS for my Diamond a while back.

And the winner was .... Shaks latest 6.1 - Its just so stable and fast with good memory and battery life. When it comes down to it I can live with out the flashy front end etc as I use SPB Shell.

Re: WM 6.5 Rom on Diamond

Hi gem, I'm fine thanks and I hope all is well with you, sorry but I seemd to have missed your post somehow.

I would take the mailmans advice, the later 6.5 ROMs don't seem to work well with video calling, so is omitted from most cooked builds. Shaks WM6.1 ROM is excellent.

Sorry I have not been back in a bit on this one. The original phone when I asked before was defective, and has since been sent back, and we finaly got another one back (referbed !! YUCK).

This one still has the oem rom bugs, so I have tried a bit to google "Shaks WM6.1 ROM" & over at xda's. Thread must be called something different than that.

Any chance you would mind throwing me the link for that one there Boz, and maybe 1 or 2 other proven ones you know? I get one chance with a working bug free ROM with the wifes phone, if I screew it up, she says she is going to the iPhone lol! It'll cost me more dough than I have right now.

Thanks Boz
