Vodafone - Missing YouTube app

For those that have the Vodafone HTC Touch Pro, you may have noticed that the YouTube application is missing.

There has been a lot of discussion about this over on the Vodafone website and it appears that the reasons for removing it were to try and prevent customers running up large bills accidentally.
Hmmm - so why leave it in the Diamond ROM then?

Anyway, if you go to post 32 you'll find a link to the CAB file for YouTube.

You don't need the additional HTC Streaming Media CAB file (as that is already on your device, despite what posts say).

The YouTube application really is excellent on this device!

So those with the Vodafone HTC Touch Pro, check it out and let us know your experiences.

Re: Vodafone - Missing YouTube app

Hi Boz - yes, still marvelling at how fine it is!

I'm still taking time to install my apps! but I'm getting there.

I'll do a little post on my comparisons between the Raphael and the Kaiser soon.

Amazing little beastie isn't it?!

It is small though even with the keyboard isn't it, the extra memory will come in handy too. Did you wangle a good deal then?

Yes, I'm missing the extra buttons as well... I've also disabled TouchFlo3D now...

Re: Vodafone - Missing YouTube app

It is useful and it is restrictive, not so much of a problem once I'd got Phoneweaver setup, if only TF3D left the task bar at the bottom visible, now that would be cool.

Re: Vodafone - Missing YouTube app

Grin I find it useful myself, saves me loading 3-4 additional apps.

Re: Vodafone - Missing YouTube app

True, as in weather and the launcher... I have it turned back on at the moment as I have Phoneweaver configured nicely now... The other thing I miss is a dedicated OK button, you don't realise how useful that is until it isn't there any more!
