Question Accelerometer.....

Hi everyone,

How did we manage without accelerometers!? I'm of the age bracket that remembers life without mobile phones and when they arrived, it was fantastic - apart from the size of the damned things! What an innovation, the problem being that I can't actually get mine to work! I've seen it in operation on my friend's iPhone; but I'm deseperatly trying to show him that the Serra is a better phone.

I think I must have some problem with my brain. I have had the Serra for three days now - though I've had an XDA since No.1 with the big ugly aerial!

I can use the phone, pretty much without any problems, but I cannot find the Touch FLO screen. I won't go into the various ways I've tried; but needless to say - I'm stuck!

Little help....?

Thanks,

TBoneBod

Re: Accelerometer.....

Hi TBoneBod, welcome to 4WM. Do you mean the ability to use the accelerometer in any application?

If so, I think you'll need an application calles Gsen. I have a Serra as well and that app is on my to-do list!

Re: Accelerometer.....

Hi Fowljr,

no, I don't think it's a third party application. I mean, I just can't access/find the Touch FLO screen. The screen that shows the time with a big "fold down" clock, or the screen that enables you to flick through your pictures, or contacts. I assumed this was something that came as standard with the Serra and was not an add-on.....

Re: Accelerometer.....

It is... That is the TouchFlo3D... Have you checked that it is enabled in Start/Settings/Today/Items?

Also, did you soft reset before the O2 customisations ran on first boot? I did this to stop TouchFlo3D being installed...

Re: Accelerometer.....

Yes, I've been there. It's not one of the choices. Can it be installed from the CD....?

Re: Accelerometer.....

I think you may need to hard reset, once it boots for the first time it should run the customisations which are stored on the Extended ROM (which is usually hidden). The alternative is to un-hide the extended ROM and run the file manually. I'm going to try and unhide my extended ROM so I can install Opera Mobile, which also isn't on mine as I did the soft reset before allowing the customisations to run.

I'll post details of what I did once I've done it!

Re: Accelerometer.....

Un-hide the extended ROM! This is sounding technical....

I'll wait to see how you do; good luck.
