Re: best anti-virus
At this point I wouldn't worry about Anti Virus on the Touch for two reasons.
1) It'll slow the device down too much.#
2) There are currently no viruses for the Windows Mobile platform.

I agree, it used to slow down my XDA IIi no end, and that had a faster processor. You'd be much better off investing in a good backup program instead eg Spb Backup or Sprite Backup.

Re: best anti-virus
I concur,
Make sure you have a good AV product on your desktop (ie Kaspersky, AntiVir or F-Secure) and you are OK.

Re: best anti-virus
I use AirScanner Mobile Anti-Virus. While it is true there are only about 5 virii to date (one being to test the anti-virus engine), WinMo is becomming more popular everyday. I simply can't afford to lose my job or my wife because I had to hard-reset my phone because I chose not to run an anti-virus program. Say that client calls to order 50,000 widgets, and you didn't answer the phone because of the above problems.... Your client called another vendor, and your boss fired you and your wife left because you lost that $25,000 commission check!?
There are several free packages out to create WinMo software, and being summer break, kids have nothing better to do... I forsee WinMo virus's exploding within the next 6 months or so...And my touch has the memory and power to run a virus scanner. My 2 cents!

Re: best anti-virus
I hate to argue but there are NO virii for Windows Mobile. A virus has to be able to propogate itself without user intervention and there is currently no way of doing that on Windows Mobile or Symbian.
There is Malware. There are no viruses. YOU must choose to install the Malware. How does an anti-virus product stop you doing that? It's all a con.
Quite frankly, given the above scenario, I'd suggest the chances of your anti-virus scanner locking up your device and you missing the order is several orders greater than the chances of your phone catching a virus.
As for your wife leaving you and your boss sacking you because your phone got a virus? Get a different Boss/Wife!

That's a bit harsh Bassey
Anyway, academic point because, as you say, the risk is too small (yet) to contemplate.
The AV prog causing trouble is a real threat though- these apps grab memory and system resources, and as we know the OS is not good at recycling memory or processes; they may not lock your device themselves, but next time you run a memory hungry app like Media Player you could hit trouble- especially if the device still functions, but there is unsufficient memory to play a phone ringtone.
