Are you connecting your Outlook to an exchange server or is it using Outlook as a local client?

A couple of questions:
Can you browse the device in explorer.
Does you email sync (both ways).

You say some contacts / appointments.
Is it always the same ones missing.
Is there any obvious thing to distinguish them i.e. contacts only up the letter ? etc.

Sorry to ask but I don't use AS anymore as I upgraded to Vista so I will need to use memory to think how it was setup.

Also any error messages when syncing - also have you checked the Windows Event Log (control panel > admin tools)

First, make a backup of your contacts...

hmmmm... if I understand this correctly... The problem is from synching from the pc to the Touch... Have you removed the partnership and recreated it? If not, give that a go... also make sure that in the settings you specify that the conflict resolution should be to overwrite the device at least until you get this sorted out, then you can change it back to default...

Re: HTC touch, WM6 activesync 4.5 outlook 2003 windows XP and PROBLEM!!

hi

I have deleted the partnership and recreated it and set it to overwrite the device if there is a conflict.

I have been through the contacts and cannot find anything obvious. it misses the first say 40 then does about 70 then misses the rest?

I have added a new contact on the device and synced and it adds this to the pc.

As for appointments i asked for the last month to be synced and it did the beginnig of the month missed out three or four days then did the rest and the ones that are in the future.

This is all new software to me so I am totally lost.

thanks Elly

Hi

I can use the file explorer on the device to explore it. I have only tried to add 1 contact to the device manually which did sync and appear on the pc.

Always the same contacts missing from the start and end of the list.

I am very new to activesync and windows mobile. i did not see any error messages on activesync on my pc or on the device.

Windows event log??? Sorry but this is a bit technical for me. So if you would explain a bit more thank you.

Elly

Couldit be that the missing items are marked as Private, or have been assugned a particular categiry in Outlook?

If so maybe the sync options need tweaking?

Hi

I have looked at this and it will take some of an assigned category over to the device but ignore others in the same category. None of them are private and I have looked at the sync options but there is nothing in there about tweaking it for categories or private items??

Well nothing I could see anyway LOL

Thanks Elly

Elly have you tried repairing the PST in Outlook in case there is any corrupt data within it at all?
