Customing Weather plugin on HTC Touch

I've been looking at this guide: HTC Touch Info | Adding Your Own City to the HTC Weather Plugin

And using TotalCommander I did edit the XML file, and the city shows up properly in the list...Ok, so far so good.

After that I used PocketHosts like the guide says, and I added a name and IP address to that list.

Back to the plugin, unable to load data...???

I have a couple of ideas maybe, but I'm not sure how to fix it.

I noticed that the guide says the XML file should be called HH_0407_WeatherCities.xml, whereas mine is called HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml

Don't know if that should make a difference or not though, since the location shows up fine, it just doesn't load the data.

The only other thing I can think of is this: the location code isn't correct or not recognized, or the Name server/IP address is incorrect...or both.

If that's the case then I wouldn't know how to fix it though...

I mainly want to use it at home on my WLAN to get a forecast for the day and an update for the week basically, any help with this would be awesome.

Cheers.

The 0407 and 0409 refer to language region locales. 0407 is German and 0409 is US English. It's likely that if the guide is talking about 0407 the guy who wrote it is probably German. I think you'd want to make sure you use the 0409 code prefix.

Yeah I've got that right...But it's ok I've swapped to the SPB Shell now and it comes with its own weather plugin that has my local town in it, so I'm chuffed about that, well worth it!

I rate Mobile Shell too. The now interface is second to none in my opinion.
