HTC Touch phone keep seraching for network

I'm using HTC Touch for last more than 1.5 years. I keep restarting it every week. Yesterday when I restarted it, it didn't detect the network. It is still seraching the network. I'm using IDEA connection.
When I checked the SIM with different phone (Sony Ericsson) it worked fine. Even different SIM (from IDEA) worked on HTC Touch.
What could be the reason that my SIM is not working on HTC Touch?
Has anyone expereinced same thing? Any help is really appreciated.

Hi HTCTOUCHPUNE- welcome to 4WM

This is a very unusual problem, but one that we have seen a few times in the past. Your experiments confirm that both your Touch, and your SIM card are capable of working independently, but not together.

This suggests that your network is having a problem with the combination of SIM card ID code and device IMEI number.

The only cure, as far as I know, is to request a new SIM card from your operator, or try to get your existing one re-registered on your account.

Before going back to netwrok operator, do you think resetting (soft or hard) the phone will help?

Its always work trying a soft reset, and if it isn't too much hassle a hard reset, though the occurrences we saw before continued after both.

I changed the SIM card and it worked.. Now, the problem is resolved and I could use the phone as normal.

Glad it worked out! This remains one of those mysteries- it is a very rare occurrence I think

Oh! Should I call it Deja Vu or something ? .. hehe it happened same thing with me .. and same IDEA Sim ... but I was flashing the phone with cooked Rom from XDA .. of WM6.5 .. n it kept on searching ... the network n other sim worked and the same sim worked on diff mobiles ...

yup did the same changed the SIM ... some IDEA problem I guess :P
