This the latest Trinity radio version from the latest CHT9100 Taiwanese ROM. It is repackaged in a custom RUU wrapper and is ready to go. This is tried and tested and I find it a great improvement.

hi there...i own a wonderful trinity and I'm trying to have it as efficient as i can and with you, i hope, it's going to be a piece of cake but it's the first time for me in this world of upgrading rom and i am wondering how to install the update...i downloaded and unzipped the radio rom but from now...what should i do...? And my trinity is unlocked from factory, is that upgrade will change something...? thanks for answering

thanks for the precious infos...it seem that i already had the Hard SPL...i don't know why it's there for but i did check the version on the 3 colors screen and :

so my ''SPL'' is o.k.(i just learned that i got the Des' Crash-Proof SPL) then i will upgrate with rom radio 1.50.08.11 but before i got some questions :
-What is SPL ?,
-what are the differences between them ? and
-what are the differences between the rom radio and why we need to upgrade them ?

UPDATE: i was enable to connect with active sync when it was in boot loader mode, so i did exit it, started the wizard and in the current information page it said that my image version is: 2.0.8.2. so, now i don't understand nothing cos i was ready the upgrade to the version 1.50.08.11....

UPDATE: i did search in many forum and i found my answer...but tell me if I'm wrong...if i well understood, the image version 2.0.8.2 is my ROM version(AX3L_OS) and the only thing i was upgrading was the radio...

First you have IPL which is the Initial Programme loader which boots up SPL.
SPL is the Secondary Programme Loader which boots up the operating system on your device. So by changing the SPL from the manufacturers original to a higher version (made basically from an original radio rom with some fiddling and Hex editing), you are able to load the rom or radio version that you choose that is compatible with your device.

Basically the radio versions generally, but not in all cases, give signal improvements, so the higher the number the better the radio version. Wi-fi has nothing to do with a radio upgrade, but GPS does. Radio version numbers that include GPS end with a "1".

Yes you are right, do not worry when it shows the rom version when upgrading the radio, it is just one of those things, as the custom RUU wrapper works for roms and radios.

thanks for these infos...totally useful...do you had any problems with the trinity using mini sd card... I got 2 mini sd 4gb(U-TEK) who are totally dead after being in my p3600...they work fine in my hp2750 but on the trinity, files started to disappear until....dead...

I would install Olipro 1.20 as your best Hard SPL. Are you still running Windows Mobile 6, if so you need to upgrade to WM6 for the cards to be recognised.
