front buttons
If anyone has had troubles with the buttons on the front of the trinity (call start/end, navigation, soft keys) i can report it is fixable and down to dust!!!!
I took the drastic measure of stripping my phone last night to find it packed with a years worth of pocket dust. It had found itself into the contacts for the buttons and hence i couldnt click anything (makes clicky noises but no action)
Anyone willing to void the warranty (if you aint done so already my flashing a new rom) can fix the device in about an hour or 2!!!
Feel free to ask for more info if anyone is interested
Pete

Re: front buttons
Nice post Pete, I still have my Trinity and have had no similar problems but if I do I know where to come.

Re: front buttons
yeah there is not too much inside these little blighters, and a bit of googleing managed to find a proper looking HTC service manual so the order of stripping was easy enough!!!
Who needs a warranty anyway

Re: front buttons
It's been two years on the last few devices hasn't it. The Wizard and the Universal were the last ones I recall with just a 12 month warranty. And quite right too. If you're spending £400+ on a phone I think it's pretty reasonble to expect it not to die after 366 days.

They probably are warranted for 2 years Dave, I will have to check into that and see how old it is.
