Own Phone Number - XDA Exec
This may seem like a silly question. I have this morning received my new XDA Exec direct from O2 with a new 3G SIM. My XDAIIi still has the old SIM with my phone number and is still active. How do I find out what the phone number for the new 3G SIM is? Is it possible to display the phone number in the Exec somewhere? A quick flick through the manual didn;t show wheteher this is possible! Otherwise I will have to phone O2 customer services again and probably get a PAC code to transfer my old number accross.

Re: Own Phone Number - XDA Exec
Can't you just phone the XDA2i from the Exec? The number should come up on the screen? I thought that the actual big credit card piece of plastic that you pop the 3G sim out of used to have the number on too?

Re: Own Phone Number - XDA Exec
If you've bought the Exec as an upgrade on your existing o2 account then the 3G sim should be blank. Customer services should be switching your number from your xda2i 2G sim over to your Exec 3G sim (which will then leave your xda2i 2G sim blank). There's nothing you need to provide in terms of codes etc. but if o2 don't just do this automatically then you may need to call and remend them.

I telephoned O2 customer services, and had to give them the number on the back of the new 3G SIM card that they had just sent to me! It will now take approx' 2 hours to transfer my account from the old SIM to the new SIM.

Re: Own Phone Number - XDA Exec
I see you should be getting sorted anyway but for those interested to know....
On the Exec go to Start/Programs/SIM Manager and select Tools on the right hand soft key and List Own Numbers is shown. Tap and it gives you the details.
Hope that helps
Regards,

Tony, that only works if you've already manually input your own numbers.

Does it?
Don't remember having put mine in manually!
I may have done though as I was under medication when I ordered the Exec
Cheers!

Re: Own Phone Number - XDA Exec
Start/Settings/Phone and under Phone Tab - your phone number. I'm pretty certain that I didn't manually input - I would have used +44 and this appears as 07....

I have just investigated and cannot see anywhere in my settings where my phone number is displayed. I havn't manually set my own phone number anywhere either.
The reason I asked, was because many years ago when I first got a mobile phone there was a function that would tell you your own mobile phone number. This seems to have disappeared from phones at some point over the years, or maybe Microsoft OS phones don't support this feature!
