So am I, the 3G device didn't exist even after installing the drivers. It was much quicker to go back to XP and use the upgrade route than waste anymore time on it.

So is it not possible to install the 3G on a fresh Vista install then?

Not as far as I could see Dave, no problems with wi-fi. but just couldn't connect through 3G even after installing the original drivers etc.

I had it working on mine and iirc i just used windows update to grab the drivers and installed the connection manager as normal.

It was the connection manager that was the problem after Vista found and installed the drivers. It would see my 3G SIM but could not connect whatsoever no matter what settings I put in.

I may have well got it working but I didn't want to waste time on it as I know the settings etc were ok, and it was quicker to go back to XP and upgrade that.

I would if I had the time mate, seem to be getting less and less spare time lately!!
