About time. We outplayed them in the league and yet somehow lost. We totally dominated the first leg and drew it. It was about a time we finally put them away. Personally, I'm hoping for a Spurs Everton final. Both play entertaining football and, i think, are fairly evenly matched (despite the huge difference in their league positions). I'm afraid Chelsea and cup finals of late have just meant battle fields. Something about a cup final seems to go straigh to the heads of Terry, Lampard and others and they just seem to start kicking everything in site.
As for Tranmere, the best game I ever saw was Tranmere 4 - 3 Wolves back in (I think) 93. A John Aldridge "Shuffle" penalty, a Steve Bull brace and Tranmere pinched it in injury time. Living in the Isle of Man as a schoolboy, my mates and I used to get the boat over to Liverpool on a Saturday morning (4 hours, up at 5am), head over to Birkenhead, watch a Tranmere match and then race back to the boat - getting home near midnight! We couldn't afford (or get) tickets to Everton or Liverpool and we all suported different "top flight" sides so Tranmere was always our group second team.
