Re: (UK ONLY) 21CN exchange plans - dates...
Looks like so far I win with Q3 2008!
Am thinking about changing broadband supplier because have just breached the 60Gb monthly limit for the second time. Any suggestions for really unlimited downloads and static IP? I know that will cost a fair bit.

I think O2 Cyc. Also, if you have a mobile with them you get a further £5 a month off.......but then the static will cost you £5 so.......

Did you mean 6GB or have you really a) got a 60GB limit and b) exceeded it?
We have 2 PC's permanantly connected to the net. We watch TV, listen to internet radio and make many hours of phone calls over the internet and have yet to reach 6GB in a month (though gone within a whisker). I can't imagine what you'd have to do to reach 60!

I'm currently on 20GB (just reduced from 25GB) and have come close on a couple of occasions and that's with Vista build downloads, TechNet downloads etc. but 60GB!

a) Yes we have 60GB per rolling 30 days, and
b) Yes, we've breached it twice, at least.
To reach 60 is easy with stuff DH needs for work - it's lumpy so one day he needs 30GB of stuff, then we drop to a much lower level. And I haven't dared go near the BBC iPlayer.
I want a really, really, truly unlimited broadband, without a fair use policy. I intend to use it unfairly, but am prepared to pay for that. I don't expect to get that at a usual domestic price level.

In that case, you are probably looking at a BT business line. A contracto here is just in the process of moving back over the UK and has been looking into this. He was also looking for fixed IP and lower contention ratios than a standard domestic.
You're probably looking at double the cost of a standard comestic rental but then, if you're using more than ten times the average data, paying twice as much seems like a good deal!
