(UK ONLY) 21CN exchange plans - dates...
For those in the UK and using Broadband (most people by the sounds of it!), BT have updated the dates that exchanges will be upgraded to support the new 24Mb services and move the PSTN (Voice) services to the IP infrastructure....

1st Quarter 09 for me.
I've been looking at changing broadband suppliers for some time now. AOL are doing a free laptop or PS3 when you sign up with them for 18 months!

Sounds good, but I have never been a fan of AOL they seem to want to big a piece of you.

Q4 2009 for me!
I've been with F2S since we moved here in May 2006, and they have been good. £20 pm to include all geographical UK landline calls, and we get about 5 MBps download speeds at most times.
Not much incentive to change at present!

Same for me Neil as you know, never had a complaint and no minimum contract. I hit around 6MBps so happy at the moment.

Much as I'd like a free PS3 or Laptop the broadband offer itself isn't very good, and the don't offer a static anyway. I'm kind of tempted by O2's package. It looks quite good, and they offer a static too. My distance from the exchange they think I'll get upto 16MB too which would be nice.

I'm Q209 too but I'm 5km+ from exchange and can only get between 1.4Mb and 1.8Mb on DSL Max 
O2 have unbundled the exchange but I think they are just doing the Max service too so no real improvement until 09. I sometimes wonder if I'd be better off with the mobile over-the-air broadband packages....
I'm tempted by O2 as I will get a big reduction being a contract customer the only thing is I am on monthly contract at the moment with static IP. I wish I had cable - 20Mb -mmmmm!
